Willow Road Residence

Willow Road Residence

The Willow Road residence is an example and case study in how to upgrade the existing Victorian housing stock in order that the finished scheme is not only of a high design quality but also of high sustainable value.
The five storey structure has been stripped back to the existing brick walls with all other elements, structure and finishes removed. When finished the house will have new bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms, dressing area and a double height rear glazed element with a balcony and internal timber and glass staircase.

The following sustainable strategies have been employed:

1. High air tightness levels with the use of a lime parge coat and internal membrane.
2. Mechanically ventilated heat recovery system through out the house.
3. High levels of insulation.
4. Sealed double glazed sash windows.
5. Rain water harvesting.
6. Solar thermal panels.
Low energy electrical systems.
8. Under floor heating.
9. All timber to be FSC rated.
10. Finn forest I joists for all floor and roof structure.
